Ingredients
- 2 slices Bon Matin™ La mie de l’artisan™ 12 Grain Bread
- 1 1/2 tbsp (22.5 mL) of butter
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) of vegetable oil
- 8 oz of mushrooms
- Meaux mustard to taste or old-fashioned mustard
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) of strong cheddar grated
- 1 small branch of fresh thyme
- Salt and pepper
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash the mushrooms to remove as much soil as possible.
- Remove the feet and put them in the compost or save them for a soup.
- Cut the heads of the mushrooms into slices.
- Heat 1 tbsp of butter and oil in a frying pan.
- Add the mushrooms, salt and pepper.
- Cook them 3 to 5 minutes or until they're golden brown.
- Meanwhile, spread the rest of the butter over the two bread slices.
- Spread with mustard to taste.
- Place 3/4 of the mushrooms on the bread slices.
- Removes the leaves from the thyme branches
- Sprinkle with cheese and thyme.
- Place the rest of the mushrooms on top.
- Bake the sandwich on a baking sheet on the center of the oven for 8 minutes.
- Set the oven to Broil and grill the cheese for a few minutes.
- Watch out so that it doesn't burn.
