By Hubert Cormier, Doctor of Nutrition

Hi everyone! I hope you’re doing well.

Today, in partnership with Bon Matin, I want to talk to you about healthy eating while I prepare some comfort food.

As we wait for spring, it’s a great time to take care of ourselves and have a more balanced diet to help us feel good – and when we feel good, we radiate well-being and it shows!

To stay feeling good, I opt for breads from Bon Matin, a local brand that offers a great variety of whole-grain breads that are nutritious without compromising on taste.

They’re easy to include in a balanced diet, which is why I’m going to show you my recipe for vol-au-vents!

[Show the vol-au-vent]

For this recipe, I used the 100% whole wheat bread with no fat and no added sugar. Instead of using traditional vol-au-vent puff pastries, which are often high in fat and salt, a slice of bread makes for a more balanced meal. Plus, it now comes in a new 600-gram format, with 4 grams of fibre and 50 grams of whole grains in every two-slice portion!

[Taste the filling]

Mmm! You’ve got to admit, this looks pretty tasty.
